====== TIM Guideline ====== TIM is the abbreviation for „Technical Information Manager“. All Technical Information Text (TI) is maintained in a Web-Application and corrected and released using a Workflow-Management- System. ===== Working on existing TI in the TIM ===== In the toolbar under a TI, there is an edit-icon (pin) for TIM.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_01.png?nolink| }} The Editor in TIM splits into two areas. In the left area the chapter and the associated text is arranged in tabs. The Workflow-Manager is located in the right area and offers an overview of the current and completed Workflows. ===== Starting a new TI in TIM ===== A new TI is started using the tab “TI” in the product page. Either you can click on the TIM-symbol of an existing TI that has not yet been created via the TIM, or you can create a new TI through the link „Create new TI“.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_02_.png?nolink|}}\\ When creating a new TI a dialog appears where you can choose language and file name. The country results from the product. \\ ^ **Please pay attention to the filename specifications:** ^^ ^ //German// TI´s | ''TI_151_CT.pdf'' | ^ //English// TI´s | ''TI_151_CT_**EN**.pdf'' | | Further information which seem to be relevant and important e.g. //winter quality// may be supplemented by ''_W_'' || | Filenames with additional product information are not allowed, especially in the context of international usage. || {{:de:tim:de_tim_03.png?nolink|}}\\ Both with a new creation and when taking over an “old” TI in TIM there are three alternatives available.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_04.png?nolink| }} **1. Choosing a draft translation** {{ :de:tim:de_tim_05.png?nolink|}} A template of the existing TIs (translation templates) can be selected from the archive. Thereby, the new TI adopts all texts in the template. In addition, the original text template is always available for translation. **2. Make a copy** Copying all text and picture usage can duplicate an exiting TI. A connection to the original TI like in the case before does not take place. **3.Choosing a template** When creating a new TI it is useful to start with an entirely empty TI. Based on the templates the required text fields are given. They can then be filled with content. ===== Edit TI ===== ==== Workflow ==== Start a workflow in order to edit a TI. The workflow is predefined as a recommendation. However, one can disregard single tasks and add further tasks or users during the processing.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_06.png?nolink| }} Each user must confirm the beginning of a task.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_07.png?nolink| }} A task can be forwarded i.e. transferred to another user at any time.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_08.png?nolink| }} The start page is listing current tasks to be worked on. One can view the PDF-Preview (magnifier symbol), the text fields (eye symbol) or edit the task in the TIM-Editor.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_09.png?nolink| }} When all necessary fields are edited and the TI has been evaluated by a PDF-preview, the task can be finished and be transferred to another user. Hereby it is possible to make a comment.\\ {{ :de:tim:de_tim_11.png?nolink|}} {{:de:tim:de_tim_10_.png?nolink| }} Reviewer and administrators can abort a workflow at anytime and completely stop it. Hereby all open tasks are stopped and the workflow is archived.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_12.png?nolink|}} At the end of the workflow, the reviewer has to release the TI. To do this there are three options, that concern the so called „finishing“: In the first case, the Ti is correct and it can be released in the PIM with the given onlinedate.\\ {{:en:tim:bildschirmfoto_2015-01-23_um_14.18.59.png?500&nolink|}} In the second case the TI is released after minor corrections, i.e. it will go „online“ at Data-Graphics after the finishing.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_14.png?nolink|}} In the third case, the corrected TI once more will be given to the reviewer for release, who now has all three options available again.\\ {{:en:tim:image_en_13.png?500&nolink|}} Under the eye symbol, previous editing of each TI can be viewed at anytime. To do this, click on the „Workflow-Archive“. A list of all previous workflows will show in chronological order\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_16.png?nolink|}} All working steps and comments of the workflow are documented here. ==== Select a product picture ==== If a product picture for the respective country is available, it should be exchanged. First, click on the existing picture in order to delete it from the TI. Than open the area „choose product picture“, in order to receive a list of matching product pictures. A click on the picture assigns it to the TI.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_17.png?nolink| }} //**Attention: Only one product picture may be chosen. Even though it is possible to choose two pictures, they will be superimposed in the PDF. If several pictures for a TI exist, they must be combined into one picture and be assigned to each product.**// ==== Choose Logos ==== In the left area, „choose logo“ you can find the corresponding logo using the search fi eld, for example „Color express“. A click on the picture adds it to the list of logos.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_18.png?nolink| }} The order of the logos can be changed by „Drag-and-Drop“. A click on the small red cross removes the logo from the list\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_19.png?nolink| }} //**Attention: Depending on the with of the logos, only about 5 logos will fit into the TI. Please check this by opening the preview.**// ==== Edit text ==== **//Text formating//** When processing the text fields click on the field description. A text-editor will open up for addition and change of texts.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_20.png?nolink| }} The text-editor offers many text-editing options. They include text formating such as bold, italic and underline, as well as superscript and subscript of text. Text passages may also be colored using the predefined colors in the menu.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_21.png?nolink| }} **//Spreadsheet templates//** For some frequently used spreadsheets, templates are available for insertion in the text.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_22.png?nolink| }} The time consuming creation of a spreadsheet is minimized, simply by changing the text …\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_23.png?nolink| }} … and adding or removing rows and columns.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_24.png?nolink| }} **//Spreadsheet width//** The width of the spreadsheets should comply with the Width Menu options in order to secure a unified presentation of the TI.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_25.png?nolink| }} **//Full screen mode & page breaks//** Some text fields contain so much text that it is not easy to edit in the standard view. Here it makes sense to use the full screen mode by using the total Browser window when editing the text.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_26.png?nolink| }} In full screen mode, it is also easier to insert page breaks.\\ {{:de:tim:de_tim_27.png?nolink| }}
